Before joining the program, Daniel had a troubled past, having spent time incarcerated. However, he discovered a glimmer of hope when he learned about the HOPE Works program through Social Services.
What got Daniel Interested in HOPE Works?
What initially interested Daniel about the program was the opportunity to learn woodworking and welding skills, which he believed would open doors to employment in those fields. Little did he know that his journey with HOPE Works would not only provide him with valuable skills but also empower him to better his life.
Favorite Part of The Program?
Daniel’s favorite part of HOPE Woodworks was undoubtedly the people. He found the staff and his fellow participants to be incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. Being someone who enjoyed working with his hands, Daniel relished the hands-on work. Moreover, he found immense satisfaction in knowing that the work he was doing was benefiting others in need.
The Employability Readiness Training component of the program had a profound impact on Daniel. It equipped him with the necessary tools to reenter the workforce after a long absence. The resume writing skills he acquired were particularly helpful, as he needed guidance on updating his resume. The classes offered a great refresher on how to navigate the job market and regain his footing in the workforce.
